Milwaukee's Group of the Altos' last release was 2015's R U Person or Not. Their last public performance was in May 2016. And now they are back. Over the past weeks, they remotely recorded a cover of Joni Mitchell's holiday-infused classic "River."

Members of Altos still play together in Marielle Allschwang & The Visitations, Hello Death, and Collections of Colonies of Bees. But here, Group of the Altos is truly back together. Something very special and specific happens when these particular people get together and play these particular roles. This is unmistakably Altos. The whole band was stunned to hear themselves conjured back into existence when the mixes of "River" started to flesh out. There they were again! Their holiday became magical and they'll probably remember that moment forever. And now, they share the magic--something you didn't know existed and couldn't have known you wanted--with you.
